The Nationals candidate for Bullwinkel has slammed the Albanese Labor Government’s fourth Budget saying it’s a bust for households and businesses doing it tough in the electorate.
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re in regional WA, the Perth Hills or foothills, this budget misses the mark,” Ms Davies said.
“Despite record revenue delivered by strong commodity prices and income tax, the Albanese Government has driven net debt to an eye-watering one trillion dollars.
“The budget papers are a sea of red ink showing deficits for the foreseeable future and a mind-blowing interest bill being racked up for future generations to pay down.”
Ms Davies said the budget proved the Albanese Government was addicted to taxing and spending and now expected Australians to reward them for putting fifty bucks of their own money back in their pockets.
“The tax cuts equate to around five dollars a week and won’t even touch the edge when it comes to the increased costs everyone is feeling at the supermarket, paying mortgages and rent,” she said.
Ms Davies said West Australians would not be fooled by the bribes being offered by Labor as they spruiked so-called tax cuts just days ahead of an election being called.
“Sensible business owners and households who have to struggle to balance their own books during this cost-of-living crisis will see these tax cuts for what they really are,” she said.
“It’s an election bribe and cruel hoax for those that are doing it tough.”
Ms Davies said another three years of the Albanese Labor Government would be disastrous for Bullwinkel, Western Australia and the nation.
“This Government is addicted to spending, handouts and spin and allergic to the hard work of structural reform to balance the books for future generations,” she said.
“Under Labor it will remain harder to pay your bills, harder to get into the housing market and harder to keep your job.
“Labor and the Greens have attacked our live sheep export industry, added red and green tape for our mining sector, and made it more complex for small businesses trying to get ahead.”
“Labor continues to use WA as its personal cash cow to fund all of its east coast projects, and in turn for propping up the nation financially, we get less and less each year.
